ELIGIBILITY
DRAFT eligibility
OJLL teams draft players from Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) minor clubs operating outside of residential boundaries with Junior A clubs.
Players turning 17-years-old in the current playing year, who are not residentially protected or excluded in accordance with OLA Regulations, are eligible for selection in the two rounds of the annual OLA Junior A Draft. These players will have participated in the OLA in at least one of the past two seasons.
Each team is allowed two draft selections. The team that finishes with the fewest number of points in the previous season drafts first, followed by each team in the reverse order of finish. Trades and future considerations may impact the number of selections a team has in any given year.
In accordance with OLA Regulations governing the draft, centres with a Junior B (OJBLL) or Junior C (OJCLL) team may only have one player selected each year. Only one goalie can be drafted from these centres in a 5-year period.
IN-SEASON PARTICIPATION RESTRICTIONS
Participation by any OLA/OJLL registered volunteers, coaches, officials, athletes and/or teams with unsanctioned competition is a violation of the Terms and Conditions of membership.
Unsanctioned competition includes, but is not limited to: league play, exhibition play, camps, clinics, showcases, or other events that are not sanctioned by Ontario Lacrosse, Lacrosse Canada or World Lacrosse.
